As the year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting not just on what we accomplished in 2025, but on how much this year has meant – both for Village and for my own family.
Late this spring, I packed up our lives in Montana and moved to Washington so I could step into the role of CEO at Village. It was a big leap, in every sense of the word. New home. New schools. New community. New responsibilities. And yes, from the very beginning, I felt something special here. I felt welcomed, supported, and surrounded by people who truly care about individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Leading an organization with such a deep legacy is both humbling and inspiring. I am so grateful for the trust our staff, Board, families, and community have placed in me. And while it has been a year with many great accomplishments, some of my favorite moments this year have been getting to know the amazing individuals at Village. As the CEO, every day is filled with reminders of why this work matters so much. As both a parent and a longtime advocate in the disability community, those moments stay with me most.
The holiday season always invites us to slow down and take stock of what really matters. Whether through the act of giving or supporting a cause, volunteering, or simple acts of kindness. I’ve seen so much generosity in this community. That generosity is what makes it possible for the people we serve to feel supported, valued, and connected – not just in December, but all year long.
Thank you for welcoming my family and me so warmly. Thank you for your continued belief in Village Community Services and in the individuals we serve. I’m deeply grateful to be here and am so excited for what we will continue to build together in 2026.
Happy holidays to you all!
