Recently, VCS completed an incredible project funded by ArtsWA. Called the Showcase Project, we were able to bring in guest musicians to work with our Voices of the Village (VOV) band. These local musicians and artists shared information about their music and then performed with VOV during the weekly musical jam session. Participants got to meet local musicians, try out new instruments, and learn about performance skills. In return, members of our musical community had the opportunity to see first-hand how valuable music is to adults with disabilities. The combined experience as truly a showcase of success in our community and we are thrilled that so many community members got to see this project in action. And as an added bonus, VCS received funds to purchase additional musical instruments for our musicians!
